April 2013 – January 2014

Software architecturedevelopment

DendroDIF is the Ministère des Ressources naturelles generic application for designing and using electronic field-survey forms. An n-tier rewrite started in 2012 to fix performance, maintenance, and evolvability issues.

I joined as the third software architect. My main mandate: stand up the new persistence layer, able to use a relational database or a fully configurable application data model.

Impact

  • Persistence-layer architecture for the n-tier rewrite
  • SQL Server, Oracle, and SQLite support, or a configurable application model
  • Foundation to fix DendroDIF performance, maintenance, and evolvability
